Wee Swap
Tag Creator

Welcome to Version 3.0 of the Wee Swap Consignment Tag Creator.
Please read the following instructions before downloading and installing
Tag Creator.
Introduction
The Consignment Tag Creator program is intended to help consignors
automate the task of creating, reviewing, editing and printing their tags for
the Wee Swap sale. The program provides the following basic features:
- A form for entering all required information for Wee Swap consignment tags
and for editing information on existing tags.
- Navigation tools for finding existing tags so they may be edited or deleted.
- A summary report that lists all tags and their corresponding information.
- A report for printing standard, pre-formatted tags with all required information
including barcodes.
- A separate report for printing pre-formatted tags for "Large Item" - these are
items that are too large to be carried by a shopper to the check-out line. This
report will print two separate tags for each Large Item. One will stay attached
to the item. The second tag can be carried by the shopper to check-out.
Tag Creator automatically creates and prints barcodes directly on your
tags. No more waiting in line at Drop-Off to receive your barcodes, and no
more manually applying stickers to your tags – Tag Creator does all that
work for you! This program can save you a tremendous amount of time and
add a professional look to your items, so please use it and tell all your Wee
Swap consignor friends about it too.
System Requirements
- Microsoft® Windows® 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or
later (Service Pack 2 strongly recommended); Windows 2000 with Service
Pack 4 or later, Windows ME, or Windows 98SE.
- It is highly recommended that your operating system be fully up to date with all
Microsoft updates installed.
- 80MB of free hard disk space
- Printer - inkjet or laser printer capable of handling card stock paper (65 lb
cover weight or higher). All tags MUST be printed on card stock paper. Any
tags printed on regular paper will be rejected at Check-In as these tags will
easily tear off during the sale. If you have an inkjet printer, please print your
tags in high quality mode (sometimes called "best quality"). Tags printed in
draft mode may not be readable by our bar code scanners.
Installation Overview
Due to the wide variety of Microsoft Windows operating systems supported
by Tag Creator there are actually two different versions of Tag Creator, and
depending on what programs you already have loaded on your system, you
may need some additional files from Microsoft to allow Tag Creator to
work. To keep the installation of Tag Creator as simple as possible we
created one install file for you to download and run. It will check your
system to see what you need and then walk you through the required
steps. Complete details of the install process (with lots of pretty pictures!)
are provided below.
The install file is not very large and should only take a few seconds to
download on a high-speed Internet connection (cable or DSL) and a minute
or two on a dial-up line. Once you run the install file you may be prompted
to download some additional files. This second download contains the
Microsoft Access database that Tag Creator needs to run. This is free, but
rather large - about 50 MBs. This second download is still pretty fast on
cable or DSL (typically in the 2 to 10 minute range), but can take 2 to 4
hours on a dial-up line. If you have a dial-up line and prefer to have the
installation file sent to you on a CD, please send us an email asking for an
installation CD, provide us your address and we will send you one free of
charge.
Detailed Installation Instructions
Following below are detailed instructions on the download and installation
process. It's really not very difficult, but we wanted to provide this overview
for those that might have questions. Even if you've done this before with
other programs and are comfortable with the process we recommend that
you read through these instructions before beginning the installation.
Please note that the following pictures may look slightly different than what
you see on your system depending on which version of Windows you are
using and which browser you use (these were created with Internet
Explorer).
Step 1: Click on the Tag Creator install button at the bottom of this page. A
window similar to the following will appear. Click the Run button (or click
Save and choose where you want to save the file then click Run). Older
versions of Windows may give you a choice of Open or Save - click Open.

Step 2: After clicking the Run button the file will be downloaded from the
Wee Swap website to your computer and the following security window will
appear. Don't worry, the file is safe, so once again click the Run button.
Step 3a: What happens next will depend on whether or not you have a
previous version of Tag Creator installed. If you do, you will see the following
window and the program will prompt you to remove the old version. Click
Yes. If you do not have Tag Creator installed, the program will skip to Step 4.
Step 3b: Click Yes again (somewhat redundant but Windows REALLY
wants to be sure before it uninstalls a program).
Step 3c: During the uninstallation process you will see the following
window. Click Yes or Yes to all, it doesn't matter.
Step 3d: Once the uninstall process is finished you will see this window -
click Close.
Step 4: Now that the old version is completely uninstalled, the new install
can begin. The following window will appear - click Install.

Step 5a: At this point chances are that you will need to download some
additional files from Microsoft for Tag Creator to run. If so, you will see the
following window - click OK. If you happen to have Microsoft Access 2007
already installed on your computer, then you will not see this window. The
program will simply finish installing Tag Creator and you will be done. Just
click the Finish button when it comes up (see Step 6 below if you want a
picture).
NOTE: If you have an older computer running Microsoft Windows 98SE,
Windows ME, Windows 2000, or Windows XP with Support Pack 1 (an old
version of XP), then you will see a different message saying that you can not
install the Access 2007 version of Tag Creator. It will offer to install the
Access 2002 version instead. Please click Yes and follow the on-screen
instructions. If for some reason this process fails to work, please click here.
The rest of these instructions do not apply to you.

Step 5b: The install program will open the following Microsoft webpage.
Click on the download button.
Step 5c: A new window will open - click Run to download and install the
Access 2007 runtime library. If you have cable or DSL fast internet access
this should take less than 10 minutes. If you have dial-up internet access
this can take from 2 to 4 hours to download.
Step 5d: Once the download is complete the install will begin. You will need
to click in the check box in the bottom left-hand corner to accept the terms
and then click Continue. This step can take several minutes (5 to 15
depending on the speed of your computer) to install the Access 2007
runtime library
Step 5e: Once the Access 2007 runtime library is finished installing click OK.
Step 5f: At this point you will need to once again run the Tag Creator bottom
of this page, or if you saved the installation file in Step 1 you can just double
click on that file. Either method will restart the installation process and
re-step you through Steps 1, 2 and 4 above, but this time it will skip the
Access install and the entire process will take less than one minute.
Step 6: That's it. Click the Finish button and you're done. Look for the Wee
Swap icon on your desktop and start making tags! For help on using the
program, refer to the Help Guide that can be found within the program itself.
