1. What are the advantages of being a Wee Swap consignor?

Wee Swap's reputation for selection and quality brings in the largest number of shoppers of any consignment sale in North Alabama - that means more sales for you!

Our premier locations provide shoppers both convenience and an enjoyable shopping experience which again means more sales for you!

Wee Swap aggressively promotes our sales, bringing in more shoppers and - yes you guessed it - that means more sales for you!

In addition to great sales for you, as a consignor you get preferential shopping times at Wee Swap.  We have scheduled a special "Consignor-only" pre-sale and a "Consignor-only" half-price sale.  We'll even let you bring one guest to each of these special events.  Please check out our Dates & Times page for detailed information.

3. Where is the sale being held?

Our 2011 Spring Sale  will be held at the North Alabama State Fairgrounds.  The Fairgrounds offer a conveniently located facility with plenty of well-lit, air-conditioned shopping space to accommodate Wee Swap's huge selection of items.  It also offers plenty of convenient free parking.  If you need directions to the Fairgrounds, please refer to our Location Map.

4. How do I become a consignor?

It's easy!  There are two basic requirements.  First, you must reserve a consignor number (see how below).  If you are a returning consignor, you still need to register for each new sale.  Second, each consignor needs to bring a minimum of 15 acceptable items during the drop-off dates.  That's all there is to it!

To make sure you have the most successful Wee Swap sale possible, please check out all of the details we have provided here on our website.  Our Consignor Info Central will step you through all of the details on what must be done, when and where to do it, what items are acceptable, how to prepare and tag those items and even some guidelines on pricing.  If you still have questions after reviewing all of this information, please don't hesitate to contact us directly at consignor@weeswap.com.

5. What does it cost me to be a consignor?

Wee Swap charges a 35% commission fee for our services.  That means that consignors will receive 65% of the selling price for all items sold.  In addition, to help defray the cost of renting premier facilities (which attract more shoppers), we will deduct an $8.00 facility fee from your total earnings.

7. Are there special shopping times for consignors?

Yes!  We have scheduled a special Consignor Night (consignor-only pre-sale) and a Consignor Half-Price sale.  We'll even let you bring one adult guest to each event.  Due to insurance & crowd size, no children at the pre-sale event please. They are welcome the remainder of the sale.  You and your guest must each have a pass to get into these special events.  You will be given these passes when you drop off your items.  Please check out our Dates & Times page for the schedule of these special events.

8. Can I work at Wee Swap and get preferential shopping times?

Yes!  It takes a lot of people to make Wee Swap run smoothly and we'd love to have you on our team.  All of our workers are volunteers, but they do this for a very special reason - premier shopping times!  If you are willing to work two 5-hour shifts you can get access to the special "Workers-only" sales event.  This is scheduled the night before the Consignor-only pre-sale and gives our workers first shot at all the best items.  Workers also get in 30 minutes before other shoppers during the half-price sales.  For more information about becoming a worker, please send us an email at worker@weeswap.com.  Be sure to check with us soon as we usually get more request than we can accommodate.

10. Can I have someone price and tag my items for me?

Yes!  Wee Swap's Drop N' Run service is ideal for consignors that don't have the time to do all the work themselves.  With Drop N' Run you just bring your clean items to Drop-Off and we'll do all the remaining work for you - pricing, tagging, sorting and hanging - and you still get to shop on Consignor Night!  Please see our Consignor Services section for complete details on this wonderful, time-saving service.

12. What happens to items that are not sold during the sale?

13. How do I make sure that my items are safe for resell?

In August 2008 the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA)  was passed with the intent of increasing protection for children ages 12 and under against  dangerous products.  This includes  products containing lead such as clothing, accessories, furniture and toys.  While the law is intended for manufacturers and retailers not the resale industry, we want to make sure that our consignors are aware of these recalls.

We believe that Wee Swap consignors would never intentionally sell an item that would harm someone else, but please make it your responsibility to review the links below and make sure that none of the items you intend to sell have been recalled  or are likely to contain lead.  The Consignor Agreement that you sign at drop-off will have a clause for you to initial indicating that you have met these requirements.

US Consumer Product Safety Commission - Toy Recalls
US Consumer Product Safety Commission - Infant/Child Product Recalls
US Consumer Product Safety Commission - CPSIA Information
